The practice nurses have a wide range of medical experience. They are seen by appointment, and perform the following:-
A Baby Clinic is held by a doctor and practice nurse on the first and third Wednesday mornings of the month.
There are ‘no appointment’ Child Health Clinics (especially for baby ‘weighs’) with the Health Visitor at:
We now have a Cryotherapy Session for the removal of warts, small skin tags, verrucas etc.
There is no need to see a GP first but you do need to make an appointment at reception. Please ask at reception for the date of the next session – you can only book 2 weeks in advance.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
If you have been asked to fill in a Pre Travel Questionnaire please print and fill in this form and return it to the surgery as soon as possible, preferably one week prior to your appointment. This enables the Doctor and Nurse to review your needs before your appointment with the Nurse. If you are unable to do this your travel vaccines may be delayed.
