IMPORTANT NOTICE - MONDAY 25TH OF JULY 2022

We have been experiencing a number of issues with our phone lines which BT are trying to address today - this means that we may lose our phone lines and internet connection for some short periods of time throughout the day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our patients, and ask for your patience as we try to remedy the problem.  Thank you.

SHARPS BINS

We have had a number of patients bring their full sharps bins to us for disposal.  Unfortunately we do not provide this service and would ask patients to contact Gedling Borough Council to arrange disposal.

EAR SYRINGING

We have taken the difficult decision to stop providing our ear syringing service from April 2023.  We are not contractually obligated to provide this service and at a time when demand for appointments is high, and other services are being brought in; we have been forced to make some difficult decisions regarding which services we need to stop doing in order to try and help the situation.  We will gradually phase this out throughout the year so that patients have plenty of time to source an alternative service; and will stop completely on March 31st 2023.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING NEW UPDATED COVID GUIDELINES

Update for June 2022:

As you may be aware, the Government guidelines regarding the wearing of face coverings in public settings have changed.  However, it is still advised that face masks are worn in health settings and we have decided to keep our practice policy in place and ask that all patients and staff continue to wear face coverings whilst in our building.  For the full statement please see our 'News' section.

The guidelines for self-isolation have also changed, but we still require all patients who contact us for an appointment to inform us if they have Covid so that we can decide how to carry out the consultation in a way which will not pose a risk to other patients or staff.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for continuing to support us with these measures.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups. Also contraception services including implants and coil insertion and removal.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on our website. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

How to book an appointment with the Doctor..

We are planning to reintroduce our online booking system soon. This will have a small percentage of appointments with the Doctor which are available to book online from 7.00am onwards, and the other appointments  will be released at 8.00am.

This is following feedback from our patients that are, for instance, working or getting children ready, etc and are unable to contact us at 8.00am.  We will monitor this to see how it works and appreciate any further feedback. If you are not registered for online booking then please call in the surgery with photo ID.

The majority of Doctors appointments are now available to 'book on the day.' There are routine, urgent and also telephone appointments with the GP. This should help to ensure you can be seen if you are unwell.  Please note that the receptionist will ask for a brief outline of the problem and this is to make sure we can direct you to the best person to deal with the problem. This may be a Doctor or it could be the Nurse or even your local pharmacy?

There are a limited amount of routine appointments to book in advance.

How to book: Telephone the surgery at 8am. Why not sign up for online access so you can book your own appointment online from 7am/8am on the day, or if you live nearby - you could come in to the surgery at 8am and book to come back and see the GP later.
